Vacationing in Delaware!

I love Delaware! I love the beaches and the tax free shopping!

We went to the Tanger Outlets last night and I picked up some goodies:
- NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencil in 604 Milk
- NYX brush on gloss in BG-126 Taupe
- Glamour Tek lipgloss in Not Now, Opp Ahh!, and Peep Show

the last three glosses I've never heard of but they were on sale for 95 cents! Who can say no to a deal like that?

Sorry no makeup pictures, I don't wear makeup to the beach. It sounded nice earlier in the season but after trying it a few times, it's just too high maintenance and ya look foolish! Hope everyone is having a good week too!

Freaking Fab!

Freaking Fabulous!Oh my goodness!!!! This is soo exciting I'm practically squeeling like a little piglet! This is my first award from the "freaking fabulous" Sara, the makeup snob!

So the rules with this award are:
List five current obsessions and pass the award on to five more fabulous blogs. On your post of receiving this award, make sure you include the person that gave you the award and link it back to them. When you post your five winners, make sure you link them as well. Don’t forget to let your winners know they won an award from you by leaving a comment on their blog.

Ok ladies, here goes...

1. Nudes pumps! Obviously. It's not as easy as it sounds, some look like they belong on a grandma others look like they belong on a nun and the really nice ones cost waaaay more than I can afford. *deep sigh*

2. Waxing. I know it sounds kind of weird but I'd always go to the salon and since I got my own wax kit I want to wax everything on everyone! Ew right? Sorry!

3. Blogging. Um I wake up extra early and stay up really late to blog and read blogs and at work I come up with new blog topics and have officially started carrying my camera every where with me incase something happens and I need to blog about it.

4. Self tanning. I'm scared to death of wrinkles and sunspots, but I looove having that sexy summer glow. Thank Gd for Dove Energy Glow. It is the BEST self tanner I have every used, especially because my skin doesn't usually absorb self tanner colors. And let me tell you - I have tried TONS!

5. White Eyeliner. It sounds easy enough, eh just pick one up and go on your merry way. Well not so much. I don't want to spend a fortune because most likely this is a phase of mine, but I like the idea of having that bright eye look and it's much softer and less 'done up' than black. However, every single one (even some of the pricier ones) seem to practically want to rip your skin off. It's great on the back of my hand, but doesn't show up and dries out my waterline. Help me please!!!

I tag: Courtney, Juicy J, Helen, Michelle, and Tiff.

What's in my bag?

So I was reading Farm Girl's blog and stumbled on this post and thought hmmm... I wanna do it too!

My Bag: Jessica Simpson
Liz Claiborne wallet - $$$
Keys with Coach photo booklet keychain :)
LG Rumor cell phone - green like lizzards!
iPod with matching iLuv headphones

Body Shop Guarana lip butter - oh this smells so yummy!
Conair wide tooth comb - keeps those snarls at bay
Goody hair clip and bobby pin - emergency equipment for bad hair days
Coach wristlet - in which I carry all the following
eclipse gum - always polar ice
Jane Iredale active light - a great undereye brightener
FileMate nail file - ewww chipped nailssss
Excedrin extra strength - no one wants a headache
Bath & Body Works PocketBac - ewww germs!!!
Crest Glide dental floss - no broccoli in these pearly whites

Oh goodness check out Linea's giveaway! Just follow her and comment on this post, she'll post the contest prize later.

Sangria Sunrise

I got no sleep last night, I don't know what I was thinking about but whatever it was kept me up until 2:15 in the morning and then my alarm rang 4 hours later - ugh. Nonetheless, I woke up feeling pretty creative - sangria sunrise creative. You know, a little golden bronze, a little sparkly plum, blend a little here, touch up a little there...

Colors Used: Beauty Rush Cream Shadow Glampagne L'Oreal HIP Visionary Lancome Color Design Backstage Pass Lancome Color Design Honeymoon

Beauty Rush Glampagne is really similar to HIP's cream paint Secretive, but this one isn't as pigmented, I used this as my base. Then using the little brush (which surprisingly is great) that comes with the HIP Visionary I started at the inner corner of the lid to the middle. Next using Lancome's Backstage Pass I started at the outter corner/crease of the lid and worked my way to the middle. Then I blended using Lancome's Honeymoon on the browbone and overall to blend the colors.

Mmm... time for a drink!

Washington Post's Mensa Invitational

Washington Post's Mensa Invitational

I got this in a forward email at work. It was so funny I had to leave the room so my boss wouldn't hear me laughing like a hyena. Seriously, once you read two, you're hooked all the way down! Happy Laughing!

Washington Post's Mensa Invitational once again asked readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition.

The winners are:

1. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period of time.

2. Ignoranus: A person who's both stupid and an asshole.

3. Intaxication: Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realize it was your money to start with.

4. Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly.

5. Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future.

6. Foreploy: Any misrepresentation about yourself for the purpose of getting sex.

7. Giraffiti: Vandalism spray-painted very, very high.

8. Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it.

9. Inoculatte: To take coffee intravenously when you are running late.

10. Hipatitis: Terminal coolness.

11. Osteopornosis: A degenerate disease. (This one got extra credit.)

12. Karmageddon: It's when everybody is sending off all these really bad vibes, and then the Earth explodes, and it's a serious bummer.

13. Decafalon (n.): The grueling event of getting through the day consuming only things that are good for you.

14. Glibido: All talk and no action.

15. Dopeler effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.

16. Arachnoleptic fit (n.): The frantic dance performed just after you've accidentally walked through a spider web.

17. Beelzebug (n.): Satan in the form of a mosquito, that gets into your bedroom at three in the morning and cannot be cast out.

18. Caterpallor (n.): The color you turn after finding half a worm in the fruit you're eating.

The Washington Post has also published the winning submissions to its yearly contest, in which readers are asked to supply alternate meanings for common words.

And the winners are:

1. coffee, n. the person upon whom one coughs.

2. flabbergasted, adj. appalled by discovering how much weight one has gained.

3. abdicate, v. to give up all hope of ever having a flat stomach.

4. esplanade, v. to attempt an explanation while drunk.

5. willy-nilly, adj. impotent.

6. negligent, adj. absentmindedly answering the door when wearing only a nightgown.

7. lymph, v. to walk with a lisp.

8. gargoyle, n. olive-flavored mouthwash.

Let's do some damage!

This is my e.l.f. purchase!!!
* Moonlight Nail Polish ($1)
* Powder Brush - Studio Line ($3)
* Eye Widener white pencil ($1)
* Concealer & Highlighter - Studio Line ($3)
* Blush & Bronzing Powder - Studio Line ($3)

I haven't tried the nail polish yet but it looks very pretty, and honestly not at all what I expected from the online images. It's more silver/bronze mirror like. The concealer is very creamy but not for serious coverage, it's more for those rested days. The powder brush is gentle because my face is sensitive to brushes, and the blush/bronzer are sooo pretty and very much remind me of the NARS Orgasim/Laguna duo. The white eye widener is a great idea, but it's a little rough and needs to be "warmed up" (rub on the back of your hand) before application on the waterline.

Also, a few weeks ago I went into my local Ocean State Job Lot and they were selling Revlon nail polish (4 in a tube for $3.99!). So of course I had to pick up a tube, except silly boy rang it up for $1.79!!! Yes - FOUR nail polishes for less than an iced coffee! I got Creme Brulee (a shimmer nude with pink undertone), Copper Gleam (super fine glitter the color of a penny), Molten Metal (black with copper-gold flecks) and Vixen (not shown - an all time favorite and classic of a DEEP red). So then I did some more damage, I got two pairs of shoes, a few tops - my favorite is the black short sleeved with a scarf-like tie around the neck - and some super fun Ed Hardy's! I just love them, I already wore them out on Thursday.

daniblackEd Hardyaugust silk

Oh my gosh! I almost forgot to mention - NUDE SHOES!!! I got myself some Tahari Nude flats! They're amazing, I already had a pair like this in the brown snake skin with the same black patent leather toe, but these! eeee!

Splurge vs. Steal!
:Lancôme Bi-Facil vs. Lumene Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover

So I've been thinking about this for a while and I'm a huge bargainer so I wanted to share some of these with you. I plan to post a “Splurge vs. Steal” post twice a month about products that are SO close in color/quality and that are SO far in price. I’m so excited to share all my secrets!

This week’s Splurge vs. Steal is eye makeup remover - something I know every makeup diva owns.

Lancôme Bi-Facil vs. Lumene Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover

Lancome Bi-FacilPrice: $26 USD
Ingredients: Aqua / Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isohexadecane, Sodium Chloride, Poloxamer 184, Hexylene Glycol, Dipotassium Phosphate, Benzyl Alcohol, Potassium Phosphate, Quaternium-15, Benzalkonium Chloride, Parfum/Fragrance, Citronellol, Geraniol.

Lumene Waterproof Eye Makeup RemoverPrice: $6.99 USD
Ingredients: Aqua; Isohexadecane; Cyclopentasiloxane; Butylene Glycol; Sodium Chloride; Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract; Ethylhexylglycerin; Disodium Phosphate; Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil; Benzalkonium Chloride; Sodium Phosphate; Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Extract; Magnesium Aspartate; Zinc Gluconate; Copper Gluconate; Tocopherol.

I usually shake the bottle and squirt some on a cotton ball after I wash my face with Johnson & Johnson no tear baby shampoo. They work and feel the exactly the same. I really couldn’t live without this eye makeup remover, and as Lumene is about a quarter of the price of the Bi-Facil, who would want to?

If you've tried both and agree let me know! If you're loyal to the splurge, try a steal (and use the extra cash for a great mascara or eyeshadow) and let me know how they compare.

Ransom!!!

Sorry for being MIA, I was shoe shopping, still no luck on nudes.

So after hearing about Etsy from Sara, The Makeup Snob, I ordered a an eyeshadow (Ransom - forest green with gold shimmer) and a lip balm (Ballerina Slipper - clear pink with gold flecks). I knew this stuff was homemade, but I was so shocked to find the cute little sealed packages! I ordered from HeavenlyNaturals and am quite pleased with the shipment which came with two shadow samples (Dollface & With You)
Any who, I used the new shadow on the lid and from crease to brow I used Bobbi Brown's Champaign, and the usualy Lash Stiletto and Voluminous mascara.

FOTD - I just loved this outfit for work, I couldn't help but share it. White jeans with a nude long sweater, and brown poiny pumps (not shown), LOVE!

OMG! I almost forgot, I just ordered a few things from e.l.f. and depending on your order use the code FREEFIVE for $5 off your order or use the code WINNERELF for 50% off your entire purchase! I'm pretty sure there is no minimum order but those codes cannot be combined. FYI - standard shipping is $6.95, ew.

Go nude or Go home!

The smell of French leather, the signature red sole, classic lines and the very expensive price tag of Christian Louboutin shoes.

I particularly obsess about the nude shoes, the classic pump and the peep toe.

As I am a fan of Angelina and she is a fan of nude shoes, so it follows that I too am a fan of nude shoes (not really, wink). I think it's the versatility of the color, it can be dressed up:

Or dressed down:

FYI - her flats are Lanvin and her open toe heels are Stuart Weitzman.

And it really elongates your legs. Plus in the case of Blake Lively it can help settle a bright color without the typical/expected black shoe.

I am on the hunt, I will find me some nudes!

Looks that stand the test of time

Cat eyes. I love them, I live them. Lately, I have been more obsessed than ever. The look is so effortlessly put together but so sultry and sexy.

This is the signature old Hollywood look. Ah! Look at these women, they drip sex.

And who does it better today than Angelina Jolie?

Summer easy makeup

I don’t know if it’s the mugginess from all this rain we’ve been having over here, or just the fact that I’m too lazy to wake up any earlier for work, but all I’ve been wearing for make up is the Physicians Formula Bronze Booster, mascara (I have too many, my mood picks the one I use), Prestige waterproof eyeliner and a little gloss (again, depends on the mood).

From that my skin feels great and really glows afterwards because of the added benefits from the bronzer (that permanent benefit hehe). If you haven’t tried the bronzer, I highly suggest it, and pick a color lighter than you think you’d be, they’re pretty pigmented and no one wants to look like an orange oompa loompa.

Stay tuned for mascara reviews!
