For me, a true super model will always be Cindy Crawford. I loved her since I was 10, and I wanted to be just like her. Now, I'm 21 and she has only become more beautiful with age.

So this morning I woke up, had a nice breakfast with my family and played with my little Nina then rushed out of the house to get to class only to find out it was canceled. Yay! So I moseyed on over to the library to select a the Givenchy giveaway winner.

Sexy Siren

mmmm I sure do love my morning coffee. I love Starbucks. I’m actually a label snob and if Starbucks wasn’t cool I might not love it as much, but what I love more than the ultra chic feeling I get when I waltz through those double doors and the aroma of coffee beans fills my nostrils is their logo. Did you know it’s been redone so many times... to make it less sexy? Do you know who she is? A siren!

In Greek mythology, they were these sexy things that lured men with their musical voices – some say they have fins and other wings. But when I think siren, I almost always think sexy and ultra dangerous. *wink*


Cosmetic translation: smokey eye, nude pink lip – so as to blend with all flesh but to stand out the ways lips (interpret as you will) should.

Camera! Lights! Studio!!!

I love makeup brushes. I always find myself needed about 10 blush brushes (you know, one brush for each color or texture) and then I find myself needing a few shadow brushes – blending, highlighting, all over, crease, etc.

I ordered quite a few elf Studio brushes, for myself and as gifts (Christmas is coming early this year). I really love these; the faux bristles are densely packed and extra gentle on my sensitive skin.

Also, from the elf Studio line, I picked up the eye transformer (pastel illusions) which is a quad of green, orange/gold, pink and blue shimmers which VERY closely remind me of The Body Shop shimmer eye shadows. From their bronzer collection, I got the golden shade because it’s the least copper-like and I can use them as eye shadows – this is a new love! Also, I’ve been looking for a purple, but I want it just right, I’m sure you can relate. Well, from the elf studio single shadow line, I found Amethyst. I’m quite fond of all of these!

What is it about Vintage?

Today I was reading several fashion blogs and I’ve seen the word “vintage” thrown around like it’s something so very special and unique and incredibly hush-hush; but what does it mean for something to be vintage? Is it your grandmother’s Chanel bag (because at this point it’s just a classic) or is it a sexy dress you pulled from the back of your mother’s closet that she wore on her first date with your father? Perhaps it’s something you got a few years ago and don’t want to talk about the gory details? Maybe you got it from a thrift store? Maybe you just don’t want to tell us who makes it?



Whatever your reason may be, the word “vintage” just gives everything that extra oomph. Even a photograph you took of yourself last night always looks sexier and more mysterious with that vintage burnt-out overlay.




To me, vintage means something classic that perhaps they no longer make; or even better, a classic that they will forever make - like a Pucci scarf, or a Hermes bag.





Is vintage a synonym for timeless? Does it mean old Hollywood? So tell me fashionistas, what is vintage?

Hello ladies! Sorry for being gone for so long, but with school starting and our new puppy, there just haven't been enough minutes in the day for anything but.

Teacup?

I have a new puppy!

Nina is only 3 months and it was a total coinsidence how she became a part of our family... We are having a tag sale all weekend, and there was a family that came and was holding this precious little baby, so of course my sister ran to my dad and told him to look at the puppy, so it follows that my dad asked to hold and play with her. Then the little girl says she's for sale because they're moving and their new landlord doesn't allow pets, so we were happy to take her!
