Happy Halloween!

Vampire Liz! Like the bling?

Last night was party night - and it was a hell of a night. Lot's of drama, tons of makeup, too many drinks, not enough sleep...

These are my partners in crime:
Barbie and Dinner - hence all that blood lol

Tonight we went Trick-or-Treating! I went with my sister who dressed up as Medusa - sound familiar? heehee

Her costume was so amazing, my dad made this wire "helmet" with wires sticking out around which my mother spent 40 minutes braiding her hair. Of course we did some wacky 10 minute makeup on her - she's too young for full detail. It also rained over here, so we were pretty wet, but we had fun!

I hope you all had a great time, lots of candy, and tons of pictures for me to look through!

Just a couple things

A quick little FOTD for today. I haven't done one of these in a while.

I used MAC Grand Entrance, Covergirl Tapestry Taupe and Lancome (dark one from) Sparkling Pink Duo eye shadow. Tons and Tons of mascara - base Maybelline's Lash Stilleto and L'Oreal Voluminous.

Also, it's been so rainy out! It's so cute taking Nina out to potty, she's very good now, she knows not to make a fuss when she gets dressed. It cracks me up, she looks like a little sausage with legs!

AND this song has been stuck in my head forever, I've been keeping on replay. Lady Gaga - Bad Romance

Halloween Sneak Peak - part III & FLASHBACKS!

Hmmm... will I show you?

Nah!

Though I won't show you what I'm working on, I will show you a little of what I have been!

Sorry for the flashbacks and the poor quality (hello '90s!) but these are priceless memories I wanted to share with you. Especially because I don't have any kids like some/most of you, so I look at my sister and think of when I was this or when I was that...

This is my first Halloween EVER! A nice woman my mom worked for bought me this beautiful dress, boa and crown! I didn't breath that night I felt so beautiful, and funny - I still remember not knowing exactly what Halloween is or why I'm dressed like this.

I spent a lot of my Halloween trick-or-treating with my cousin Dmitriy, we're still very close (4 years apart, born on the same day!).

More on Cuff Bracelets

I scanned this from Marie Claire's November issue. It just seemed so appropriate to go with my previous post . Who would have thought that such a piece could not only be beautiful but historical!

Black and Gold

A little change for tonight; I went to Forever 21 and for $ 7.80 I got this super amazing bracelet made of black "leather" and "gold plated" Moroccan design. I love it! It's a mixture of badass with the rough leather underneath and girly twists over it.

My love for black and gold started when I met Chris's mom. She's a sweet-n-spicy kind of woman! She is full of life, her closet full of black and her jewelry box full of gold. Naturally, I followed. This Forever 21 bracelet reminds of my other one - small enough to fit around my wrist but wide enough to be large and in charge.

... so of course this reminded me of all my fun black and gold rings!

Does anyone else share my love for the mix of gold and black together? Or are you a silver sorta woman? I am so obsessed with finding big bangles that won't fall off my wrists ... are these even still in?

eau de Kate Moss

Kate by Kate Moss Ah, dear Kate, what ever would the fashion world do without you? Why we will never know of course! The "anti-model" who made popular by her waif figure launched her clothing line at Topshop in Oxford Street a few years back. There is no Topshop in America, and frankly I'm sure I could never afford anything from her line. But then she came out with a fragrance! At first a rolled my eyes at the thought - 'pff another celebrity trying to do more than be photographed'

A few weeks ago, during my retail therapy stage, I found this simple pretty little bottle in my hands and brought it to my nose and what a sensation! It wasn't musky-dirty, nor was it old-vanilla, but rather a fresh and flirty floral fragrance. Something so fresh I can almost call it natural but naughty. Try it! If you haven't smelled it, smell it. If you have, do you like it?

I am wearing it now. It excites me! Before I go any further to profess my secret love of her style, I must confess I never liked Kate Moss, her look irritated me - there is nothing special about her stringy hair and fishy eyes. What is so special about her? I would ask myself while flipping through Burberry and Versace ads. I finally found my answer when I turned the page to see a David Yurman ad.

She glows. And not only that, but as I raised my eyes from her spread to my closet, I realized she popularized half of my wardrobe. "In recent years, she has popularized denim cutoff shorts, Ugg boots, ballet flats, Vivienne Westwood Pirate Boots, skinny jeans, waistcoat, Alexander McQueen's skull scarf, Louis Vuitton's Sprouse Leopard Cashmere Scarf, and the Balenciaga handbag, as well as recently bringing high-waisted styles and waist-cinching belts back into popularity. Wal*Mart meets High End??? Yes! Good news for us all!

At the beginning of month Wal*Mart partnered with Hard Candy to bring high end cosmetics at affordable prices. I went today and though I didn't pick up too much because I have been keeping my makeup buying habits on a short leash, I did love everything. Check it out here, nothing is over $10 USD!!!

I did however crack and bought the Curl Up & Dye lash curling mascara in venus 252 which is an inky purple mascara. The packaging was so damn cute! I haven't tried it yet, but if you're really wondering let me know and I'll do a review. Have any of you checked out this line yet? The eye shadows looked so beautiful and buttery but I said "NO!" - and now I'm sorta wishing I didn't as I'm browsing through them online.

Remember these ladies?

They partnered with Wal*Mart ages ago and I think Hard Candy replaced the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen cosmetic line. I'm a little sad because they had some fun stuff. Whatever was left went on sale for $3.00 a pop! Of course, I picked up some goodies.

I remember looking at the illumineyes liquid color shadow for my friend who ran out of her favorite goldy cream shadow. I really liked Champaign for her, but for ME I got Black Onyx and Metallic Pink. They go on very rich but if you leave it globed and then rub you get a funny little ring. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing. I try to stay away from cream eye shadows because they always crease on me, but I (ever so logically) decided that if it comes in a tube it will crease less. How do you girls feel about cream shadows? Am I on my own here? Are they worth it? Is there some magic trick I need to learn to keep them from creasing? Help meeeee!

I have been checking out the eye glams every time I browse through the aisles and I figured this is my last chance and since I was in a purple mood I grabbed me the last Dreamy eye shadow palette (which isn't a palette but rather a duo, but who's counting?) The left is a cool rich bronzy color with silver glitters and the right is a vibrant purple with hidden silver glitters as well.

Oh! You're gonna love this one... since I haven't been allowing myself to buy more eye colors and blushes, I discovered this new fetish for concealers. I have quite a few and I thought ohhh for $3 I'm going to add this one to my collection. BUT I do have a good reason (other than the price) for getting this. I heard the concealer sticks work really great for those reddish areas like acne scars or broken capillaries - it just provides better coverage. And of course the other side has the liquid concealer with it's handy dandy wand which I love so much. What are you favorite concealers and what exactly do you conceal with them... hmmmm...

Omigosh! Almost forgot! We (my sister and I) brought Nina with us to Wal Mart and put a kick in everyone's day, she was such a hit, but then the little old lady at the register told me they don't allow pets unless they are service dogs. Oh well! Like her jackie? She's so cute, she gets very cold and we want her to stay warm in style! Is that silly? Do you have pets to dress up? I mean, I guess it's ok because she's little, we don't torture her with Halloween outfits or daily dress up routines or anything, just outside for walks.

Enjoy your Saturday night!
