Addicted to online shopping

In the past two weeks I have spent an obscene amount of money buying stuff online. This stuff ranges from little knick-knacks for Christmas presents to makeup for myself.

I went online to coastalscents.com to buy their 88 warm palette for $24.95 only to buy a True Black Gel Liner $6.95 and Strut on Nude Lip Gloss $1.95. Which truly doesn’t sound like a lot until I loggin to my online banking and realize that I baught way too much stuff already!!! And it’s not like poor little me only has 3 lip glosses and 1 blush sitting in her makeup drawer. Good news: coastal scents is having 25% off entire site promotion until the 30th.

Coastal Scents 88 Warm Palette

On top of that I already bought a NARS blush and eye shadow duo from a blog sale Thanks Niki!) but then with the 22% promo code from narscosmetics.com I want to buy the Bridal Palette but then remember when I got the Deep Throat/Striptease duo from Marshalls?

Ugh! What do I need all of this for?!?!?

Now I’m on elizabetharden.com and want the 8 hour retro lip and skin duo for $38 but they’re offering an 8 piece gift. But oh wait! They a have a purchase with purchase promotion for $42.50 I could have an addition 31 piece set.

Elizabeth Arden Free Gift
Elizabeth Arden Purchase with Purchase

Do I buy it? The 8 piece promo ends tonight. I need your help!!! And please tell me I’m not the only one with an online shopping addiction?

What makes your holiday glitter?

stellas eye photo by kt snooks

I am not daring enough to rock this look. And frankly if I saw anyone in real life wearing it, I might think they're a little wacked. However, a little glitter could be fun right?

Yeahhh... I did my nails.

Black Friday haul

Ah!

I am just too embarassed to tell you what time I woke up to shop on Friday. I got some good stuff though! I hope you did too.

Cosmetics

Pixi by Petra Softly Smoky Eyes

[Target $9.99]

This is a non-black Friday special but it's so beautiful and since I've been lemming palettes like crazy this little baby is so perfect for travel (and everyday). The photos don't do it justice, every color is wearable, no wacky color extras that you simply DON'T use.

Maybelline Last Stiletto Mascara (Very Black)
Maybelline Last Stiletto Shadow Stick (Starlet Sable)

[Target $6.88]

Typical love. The shadow stick would be used to smoke out the eyes around the rims and the mascara is a lengthening base before m L'Oreal voluminous.

Carmex - pack of 3

Carmex
[Target $1.88]

Apparel

Sweater Dress

[Macy's $19.99]

This has been part of my wish list since the end of summer. With mile long legs it was difficult for me to find a sweater dress that doesn't crawl up my ass with every step I take. This on is perfect length, just the right amount of sexiness, warm, and ivory!

Cardigan

[Express $39.50 - 25%]

Totally in love with cardigans and even more this pattern! Look at the detailing on the sleeve. So pretty! Express always has great quality clothing, and with a 25% discount store wide, it was hard to say no.

Intimates

Ambrielle Bras

[JCPenny $14.88 each]

Ladies, if you need some boobage, may I please suggest Ambrielle Extreme Push Up bras? They come in a variety of colors (this is my third one) and sizes (duh). I also got the smooth strapless for those sexy nights out. But seriously, once you put this baby on, you never go back to anything else. I got both bras in nude, because the white look under a white tee is incredibly trashy, I'm sorry if you like the look, but I passed the sixth grade and thus graduated to where it is actually cooler to not see my bra. Oh yes, just FYI wear black under black, it photographs better.

Sweat Stains? No Thanks!

Certain Dri

Ok gross no one wants to be looking like a million bucks and suddenly raise her arm only to reveal a big ugly sweat stain and suddenly feel a wave of embarrassment asking yourself questions like "oh gosh who saw?" "oh it's not that bad, right?".

I use Certain Dri. They actually have their own website which offers a lot of great information about the product as well as little tips like the No-Sweat Fashion Tips

Just apply like regular deodorant (use sparingly or it'll burn) before you go to bed. I do this daily for a week and then every other day and then every two days to keep it up.

Dove & Secret Clinical Deodorants

It's really great, and definitely helps in preventing that embarrassing stain. Dove and Secret also came out with similar products but I have not tried them. I guess they're supposed to be just as good and are both labeled "clinical."

The price tag on all three of these is double/triple the price of regular deodorant, but it is SO worth it. Trust me, I'm a sweater heehee

I am in no way affiliated with or endorsed by Certain Dri

Get your glow on

Self tanner. I find this is the only way to get a true winter glow. I do not look good in light skin, even my highlighter doesn't help!

Weapons of choice:
exfoliating gloves
Philosophy microdelivery exfoliating wash
Philosophy help me
rubber gloves
Dove energy glow (medium to dark)
cocoa butter lip balm

Exfoliate. Exfoliate! EXFOLIATE!
This is the best and only prep before self tanning. I use my regular body wash and exfoliating gloves, $1 each at Ocean State Job Lot, they are totally worth it *silly giggle*

For the face I use Philosophy microdelivery exfoliating wash, I did a review of all Philosphy skin care products (that I use) here.

I like to put medicated stuff (Philosophy help me) on my face before "tanning" my face for two reasons: ONE it provides a base so I don't look like an oompa-loompa and TWO it helps prevent in tanning your pores which makes you look like you have blackheads everywhere.

Alright baby! Wear those plastic gloves like you're a doctor and get to work. A little bit of lotion goes a long way, start with a pea size for each part of the leg, one for the torso, one for the chest, one and a half for both arms. Walk around naked for 30 minutes to let the tanner set in. Ya know you wanna ;o) Don't forget your lip balm, lips need moisture even at night, and you wake up wish such a supple pout too...

Now go to sleep! I hope you don't have white sheets, if you do, change them before getting into bed, this will kill time and prevent from tan-stains.

Good morning sunshine, aren't you just a ray of glowiness today?

Yes, yes, you will be!

For morning makeup, it's totally up to you. I like to just skip foundation and do a powder sweep across my face. Today, I wanted a glowy-pink look.

Weapons of choice:
Calvin Clien Euphoria
VS Bare Bronze Heat Mirage
L'Oreal Voluminous
Maybelline Lash Stiletto
Wet-n-Wild H2O proof brown liquid liner
UD liner in Stray Dog
Physicians Formula Bronze Booster (light to medium)
Revlon Floral Affair 465 Pinking of You (discontinued)
Shu Uerma Rouge Serene Pink
Mattese Baby Doll gloss

Use the bronzer to contour your cheeks and a pink blusher to give that - pause, deep breath - burnt look. Cover the eyes in a gold champaign and some light gold brown on the outer corners. Line the lids with brown liquid liner - liquid because it stays better, brown because it looks more natural. Natural glow is our key. Line the lower lash line also with a brown soft pencil, let it smudge, it's sexy.

Big lashes! There are no excuses.

Keep the lips light but sex kitten by pinking them up a bit.

[Swatches below for the products used]

Almost forgot! Don't forget a spritz of that sultry scent you love this time of year. Something that makes you feel sexy, composed, and alive all at the same time. I picked Euphoria, the smell is divine - Valentine's gift from Chris, he totally knew what he was doing.

Alright hot blogger, get your glow on!

No decent picture, just a funny blurry one, but I assure you, I was glowin ;o)

Let's talk eyebrows

[my tools]

I get compliments on my eye brows all the time so I thought I’d share some tricks of the trade.

I pluck daily. It’s only like 2 or 3 stragglers but that keeps these babies in line at all times. I recently purchased Tweezerman Tweezers and it makes such a difference! I usually just picked up some cheap-o ones and always checked their sharpness and that the tips were the same size (huge difference when they’re not), and I spent all that time when really, just pay once for a great pair of tweezers and never have to worry about it again, especially because they offer free sharpening.

I trim weekly. Any regular nail scissors will work but make sure they are SHARP. This really helps get that straight edge for a perfect arch, brush straight up and snip. Also, any mascara wand or brow brush will work. CAUTION: this is not for newbies, skip this step if you are unsure of your skills.

Next I fill them in with my Wet-n-Wild powder. It’s $3.99 and the BEST colors I have ever used! It comes with two tones, a wax and a mini brush. I use my own angle brush because the little one it comes with is too abrasive. These colors match a brunette perfectly because the darker color isn’t that unnatural black and the lighter color isn’t a blonde brown which is also unnatural for brunettes. I like to raise my brows when I fill them in, this really accentuates the arch and makes filling in the angle a lot easier.

Lastly I set them with my Wet-n-Wild brow gel. One side is a gel and another is a pencil for last minute touch ups or touch ups on the run. A clear mascara will work just as well.

I hope this helps! Do you have any additional brow tricks, please share.

Polka-Dotted Apple Giveaway

Polka Dotted Apple is having a massive giveaway!

Answering these questions is part of the entry process:

What is your most prized possession?
My family. Without them I wouldn’t be me.

What is your definition of beauty?
Beauty is glowing skin, a killer smile and a contagious laugh.

What makeup item (Brand and name of product) would you recommend to me?
Lacome Dificils mascara, it’s similar to Lash Stiletto which you clearly already love <3

What is your favorite KIND of makeup item and why?
Hmm are we talking color? Texture? Well I love shades of gold... gold like lips, gold eyes, gold highlighted cheeks and I like my stuff in powder form, none of that loosey goosy stuff lol

A weird factoid about you.
I only curl my left eyelashes.

What is the fondest memory of your childhood?
Cape Cod vacations with the entire family.

Describe yourself honestly.
Honestly... oh dear, don’t get scared. I’m pushy and stubborn. Sometimes I’m mean but I’m also incredibly sweet and a very good time. I could be the life of the party but I could be the party pooper. It takes about 3 seconds to piss me off and it takes me about 3 minutes to forget about it. I’m incredibly loving and loyal to those who are true to me.

Tell me something I could do to improve my blog.
Dear Maggie,
to improve your blog may I please suggest a new color scheme? Something wild and sexy and attention grabbing, just like your posts (which btw I am so in love with!)

Skin & Nail nourishment
DHC package & OPI nail envy

DHC Haul

I first heard about DHC from Brilliant Farm Girl's DHC Olive Leaf post. We wrote a few email back forth discussing this product because my skin gets incredibly oily in the summer but staying oily, it gets dehydrated in the winter. She said this is all around awesome, the only thing that stopped me from buying this 4 months ago was the price - $45 USD. Ouch! For something I order online, have no way of trying out, blah blah blah.

This month it is on sale for $29! How awesome for me? Of course I put in an order and ordered a few more goodies while I was there. The nice thing is that DHC has a sample form of all their skin care products and you get 4 free of your choice with every order. Another cool thing is once you become a member on the site they ship you a bi-monthly catalogue that also includes 2-4 free samples! So basically it's worth to just sign up for the free samples because personally I found some of their products to be really great, like their Eye Bright for $21.50 USD.

DHC Olive Leaf
[DHC Olive Leaf]

DHC Q10 Moisture Color Base
[DHC Q10 Moisture Color Base SPF 30 in green]

DHC moisure lip gloss
[DHC Moisure Lip Gloss in Rose]

Also, during this time of year my nails get really weak and I haven't had time to give myself manicures so I have been keeping them short and am constantly applying cuticle oil but they just keep chipping! I'm almost in a panic because they are SO short and keep getting those little chips that catch on everything - tights, sweaters, etc.

While quickly browing through the sales at one of our mall salons, I found this OPI Nail Envy treatment in matte (great base, really sticks the color) for only $4! That's more than 60% that it was tagged for considering the original price was almost $15 USD. I hope it helps and gets me back into the swing of things as far as manicures go.

...and then there was NARS

Two things. But before those, let's start with an introduction.

I have been lemming over NARS products since I learned there was such a thing. The Orgasm blush, the Bridal Palette, the Galapagos eyeshadow, etc. Then I decided to ask my bloggie friends for a promo code or discount sites selling NARS (and/or Cargo). Clara @ Clara711's Makeup Blog told me to check out Rai's blog @ la.morena who had a 22% off promo code.

I was so giddy like a 5 year old girl on a sugar rush. I immediately rushed over to narscosmetics.com only to find that the two duo eyeshadows I want (Tiaga and Bellissima) were out of stock. I wanted to cry but instead I quickly wrote a message to customer service asking when they will be back in stock. Which brings me to my first point.

NARS customer service is SO nice!

The image is a print screen of the email I sent and the email I got back that same day. Erin over at CS4NARS knew I had a coupon code and instead of being a nasty bitch and telling me it expired or it's got problems, she just gave me a new one! I want to share it with you: 2211290CP

So all this excitement brings me to point number two...

I ran over to Marshalls between classes and I found the Deep Throat & Striptease set for $29.99!!!!!!!! Um hello! What a steal?

It's like Christmas shopping for myself! Oh naughty naughty muahaha

Hope ya'll are havin a wonderful and extra lucky day like me!
