Eyes By Design
I believe the packaging said they are the first and only to design product (makeup and skin care) exclusively for eyes. I got the color palette for Hazel eyes and their sample size Volumizing Mascara.
Their website is down, or something funky is going on but I did find them on HSN. ALL SOLD OUT! Can you believe it?
Here's what the company has to say about themselves:
Flawless eyes are in your future. Take the guesswork out of makeup application with this complete line of innovative skin care and makeup created expressly for the eyes. Combined with simple, expert advice, EYES BY DESIGN gives you the tools and knowledge you need to achieve beautiful eyes—every time.
I saw the colors for blue eyes at the store too and they were very pretty and not blue cliche colors either - more in the copper range.
HSD describes the Hazel colors as Iridescent Pink, Golden Taupe, Brown Shimmer, Pink. I totally agree! The softness and usablity remind of Chanel. I'll have to give it a go really soon and provide you with swatches and FOTD.
Until then, stay beautiful!

Happy Birthday to My Baby Boy
This isn't a post for anyone really.
Just for me.
And Chris.
I took him to New York this weekend,
we had the best time.
Seriously, the best.
Happy Birthday!

Au Naturale?

Isn't she fantastic?
A true beauty in my eyes
...that sexy accent doesn't harm the sex appeal either.
I really love her look for L'Oreal, she's so natural and contoured and firey sexy. I found a little L'Oreal treasure to help me recreate her look.
Enter: HIP FoxyThis is so blendable and pigmented it's illegal for them to only charge $7.99. The pink isn't anything you've tried, it's really a natural pink that you find in your skin and they just make it richer. The brown is a super dark matte brown, I can't ever imagine running out of this. I start by applying the pink side all over from lower lashline to just below the brow bone and then I tap my contour brush into the brown and with my eyes open run it across my crease starting from the outter corners. Don't foget to smudge lots of black eyeliner on your upper and lower lashline. It's perfect! Go now! Re-create Penelope!!!

Spring Cleaning ...my makeup and stuff

I can't tell you how much I've thrown away. It all started when I peeked in my closet to find that my "club clothes" (you know, leather leggings, sparkly tops, etc.) were overflowing my tank and t-shirt pile.
I allocated a drawer just for items like that, however, that drawer was filled with more junk - old reciepts, note cards, postage, journals, etc. - so then I put that into one of my shelves which of course had even more junk on it - magazine clippings, old CDs, key chains, etc. - so those I put into a box which... OK OK YOU GET THE POINT!
I threw away nail polishes, face masks, lotions, and I also made a "donation" pile. This is something my friends and I do when we decide to swap items we don't want anymore but they're just too new or too precious to throw away.
Long story short, I actually felt good throwing and giving away items that I simply didn't use. They were great at some point, I had my fun, but now they were either too old or took up too much precious space.
Do you ever feel good throwing stuff away or am I just wacked?

Obsessed with Milani Cosmetics!
Two things:
ONE - They're mostly made in US or Italy (how cool?)
TWO - They're affordable and on sale now
This is my collection:

This is my most recent purchase, the quad eye shadow in 01 Touch of Brown was on sale for $1.75 at my local CVS. I've mentioned this sale before, it seriously is one of a kind, I'm a drugstore junkie and this is CVS's best. None the less, the colors are rich and super wearable. The golden brown is more copper so I have to be careful with it because orangey hues make me look sick. The two top colors - one is a faint white gold, which sparkles beautifully gives the "most natural" gold look and the other is a matte nude-tan, and can be worked into the crease or use as a base. The dark charcoal brown (is that possible?) is my favorite! The pigment is rich and pearly and with a light hand can be worn a bit more sheer as well.

I had these babies for a while. It was actually harder for me to find these because around my area only a few Walgreens stores had them and even then there would be like one left and it would be smudged or cracked. These were about $3.99 and the color is fantastic. I think these are a little more buttery than the quads and I like that these two - Golden Bronze & Java Bean - are on the cool side of browns, which is my favorite and works best for my skin tone. I absolutely recommend starting with these.

Ok quick story about this - I have enough broners to bronze an entire Alaskian nation, and I bought this because it was $1.75, like who can say no to that? The other day I was rushing out of the house and quickly swirled my itty bitty kabuki brush in the bronzer area and dusted it on my cheeks. I was pleasently surprised. I mean truly this was so sheer and so natural everyone - and I mean the fairest of you maidens - can wear this. And of course how cute that it comes with a little NARS Orgasm dupe? Cha-Ching!

[[SWATCHES!]]

Ah, yes, finally, the Glitzy Glamour Glosses. These are so pigmented they're like a liquid lipstick! There isn't much to say about these, they're rich in color, not sticky, have good staying power and are on sale for $1.75. The swatches speak for themselves...

Stila Good to Glow - only $10, get yours now!
Check out Miss Natty's blog post for more pictures. I actually went out and got this because she posted it. I will be honest though - it's a great deal but the powders aren't as buttery as I would like them to be. More stale shimmer, but if that's what you like, or you are really fair - it's perfect! And for $10? Who can go wrong?!

Kiko Cosmetics from Milan
This post is long overdue, but that’s just the way life is these days.

One of my bf’s studied abroad in Italy last semester, you may remember how I tried to ship her a package. Any who, she came home just before Christmas and gifted me with all these wonderful things! I got a beautiful salmon and cobalt patterned pashmina scarf along with some KIKO cosmetics – made in Milan, ow ow!

Kiko Lipgloss #07

Kiko Nail Polish #unknown

Kiko Eyeshadows #12 & #58
The eye shadows are my favorite! The color is rich, the texture is fine, and by the end of the day I’m pretty creaseless.

Philosophy Haul

If you have never tried Philosophy product I would suggest starting with their award winning Foaming Bubble Bath & Shower Gels, they foam beautifully and smell good enough to eat. I thought the Belgian Waffle would be a perfect pair for my at home sugar scrub.
And when I came home I had a little surprise waiting for me in the mail! A Ginger Bread Man Shower Gel sample which included a 15% off $75 purchase promo code: GMFB318834. I just love their packaging and inspirational sayings!

Also while I was out and about I picked up a Complextion Perfection duo which included a 1 ounce of the Supernatural (tinted moisturizer) and 1 ounce of the Present (primer). I've never used these before, if you have, let me know what you think! Is it worth it or just a hype?

Make Your Own Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish

At Sephora retailed for $65, this is a devine little treat.
But why spend that much money when you can enter your kitchen and make this little concoction at home?
You will need just under a 1/4 cup brown sugar,
and maybe just about two table spoons extra virgin olive oil,
but make sure it's EXTRA VIRGIN because it's thicker.
Mix the two in a little dish so that the oil just covers the brown sugar, no floaty stuff cuz then it gets all goopy in your shower. Feel free to add a few squeezes of lemon or grapefruit, just but a few drops so the acidity can aid in exfoliation.
Your finished product should look like this. Enjoy!
Just a little exfoliation tip - turn off the shower and rub the scrub all over you first, then rinse. This way you don't waste product and you can really get those rough spots (knees, elbows, heels, etc.). Good luck, and let me know what you think!
