Cellnique Product Review
Skin Action Sebum Gel Part I

Cellnique

First up is the Skin Action Sebum Gel.

Cellnique says:This is a phyto bio-engineering formulation gel for all skin types to reduce both blackheads and whiteheads on affected skin area without painful extraction. This daily maintenance gel also reduces sebum secretion, leaving the skin clear and producing smooth visible results within 10 days of application.
Benefits:
• Controls excessive sebum
• Reduces the formation of blackheads and whiteheads
• Reduces skin inflammatory
• Controls and prevents breakouts
• Increases skin moistures and improves skin elasticity
• Anti-irritation

At first glance, it’s a clear gel – literally gel, reminds me of hair gel (which is I am totally okay with and actually like better because my skin is a cream hater). There is no smell if I bring it to my nose, however, after application there is a subtle hint of menthol. It sort of reminds me of cough drops. It feels cool and tingly on my skin and completely non-greasy. Love at first application!

I really like that I can pronounce the ingredients and for the most part, know what they are.

I will keep you posted, and after ten days of morning and night application, I will post before and after pictures as well as my after thoughts of the product.

TBA: Cellnique Product Reviews &
And a chance to do a review!

Hello everyone,

I have had the pleasure of speaking with Selina from Cellnique – the expert of problematic skin – and was offered to do a product review. I told her my skin type/concerns, and she sent me products in return for a proper review including photos, descriptions and (as always) an honest opinion. I classified my skin as congested and told Selina that "I currently have oily and sometimes dehydrated skin (please do not confuse this with combination or dry skin, as it is sensitive to creamier products and I break out instantly). My main breakouts are around my jaw bone area and I have clogged pores (in the form of blackheads) around my nose (which is common) but more annoyingly on my chin. I also have bigger pores on my cheeks. My forehead is the best however, and I have no complaints."

"All Cellnique products are formulated with Cx Formulation. Cx Formulation is an advanced in-clinic formulation that combines the power of biological active ingredients, natural plant extracts, antioxidants and a bio-active delivery system, offering the best performance for immediate and visible results for various skin problems. To read more about them, click here."

In the next few weeks, be expecting several Cellnique reviews. I have made a special request for Skin Purifying DayTime Protection 20 and the Intensive Hydrating Oasis Gel and as a surprise also got the Skin Action Sebum Gel.

I’m not going to use these all at the same time because if I have a reaction I want to know what’s causing it.

Cellnique would also like to offer free samples of Skin Purifying DayTime Protection 20, 3ml to first 50 Product Junkie readers. Please email your full name, mailing/shipping address or your blog’s url (if any) to fbfreesample[at]cellnique[dot]com with the subject prdctjunkie.blogspot.com. Readers that send in their blog’s url, might stand a chance to do a product review!
T&C: Valid ends 1 week after your product review being post and sample delivery within 4 – 6 weeks.
READ: Email before April 29, 2010 and give 4 - 6 weeks to deliver. Good luck!

L'Oreal HIP Loose Pigment
Restless & Exciting

Hi babies!

I love me some eye shadows, I love them in all shades, colors and textures! That’s not to say I wear them all – of course, but I love them nonetheless.

Today’s shadows at hand are L’Oreal HIP loose pigment eye shadows in 918 Restless and 102 Exciting.

In the store I was like “hmm what is the difference between these two?” So naturally I bought them both and guess what? They’re like night and day! Or rather gold and pink! This photo shows the two plus MAC Vanilla pigment for comparison.

Ok so let’s get started.

Both of the pigments are fairly sheer but ultra shimmery. These make a great shimmery neutral eye or used as highlight for brow bone, inner corner, etc.

102 Exciting reminds me very much of the Body Shop’s pink shimmer single eye shadow but this one, to me, seems more sheer but at the same time more sparkly – just generally gentler I guess. At this time I should mention it is an opalescent color – where sometimes it’s just so subtle until the light hits it just right and it is the most beautiful light pink.

918 Restless is a gold. Not yellow gold but a shimmery sheer white gold and this one has a little trick up its sleeve. If the light hits it just so, there is a hit of opalescent pink. It really really reminds me of MAC Vanilla.

The swatches below are 918 Restless, 102 Exciting and Vanilla. Don’t ask my why I didn’t put Exciting in the middle. I would deffinatly go far enough to put this Vanilla vs. Restless into a Splurge vs. Steal post because they are both sheer-ish with a pretty golden color and pink opalescent. HOWEVER, the MAC pigment has a white base where the HIP is sheer, so if you’re doing this all over the eye, the MAC will make you look like a geisha where the HIP is a totally wearable shimmer. That’s pretty visible in the first photo of the swatch. As always, all images are clickable.

Milani Runway Eyes Fashion Shadow
& Maybelline Salon Expert Nail Polish

Hello!
CVS sometimes – most of the time – has some pretty awesome sales and coupons using your Extra Care card. I had a coupon for a ‘buy one get one free’ Milani Cosmetic Item. My choice: the Runway Eyes Fashion Shadow in Ready to Wear.

Click to go to the Milani websiteThe swatches from the site are excellent.

At first glance, I thought “whoa what chic packaging and super awesome golden brown collection of colors.” Once I used it, the hype died down a little because the way the eye shadows are laid out, it gets a little messy, especially if you’re in a rush. However, the colors were wonderful, my lids weren’t drenched in pigment but the colors weren’t stale either. With the texture you can easily go from morning/work smokey eyes to bold nighttime eyes.

The swatches below are kinda stinky, but I was in a rush and some swatches are better than no swatches.

The nail polish was just a bonus. After seeing Charlotte’s NOTD of Butter London Knees Up I wanted my own! So lucky me found this, the red foiled nail polish really was a nice change from the darks and creams. This photo was taken dayyyys after I first did my nails so they're lookin a little raggedy.

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Soft Nude

Revlon Colorburst Soft Nude

The first photo is true to life. At first glance I thought the packaging was unique and very different for Revlon. The little color swatch on the top of the cap was quite enticing, and as luck may have it, the cap was true to the sexy little tube of lipstick inside.

On the lips? Just as nude, much creamier than their matte collection but not as creamy as the super lustrous lipsticks. This is a flat color and much to my surprise stayed nude on my lips the entire time... until I licked it off. It's staying power isn't super duper, you'll certainly need to reapply. But! For $8.99 USD (if you wait for the BOGO sales + coupon) it's a great deal. Something no nude-loving-lipstick-junkie should be without.

Muah!

Borghese Nail Polish - NOTD

I've always loved a Ballerina Pink nail as an alternative to a French manicure nude.

Enter: Borghese Angelia Blush.
Two coats of this creates a creamy pink, still sheer but not so much so that it looks clear.
