What a lush and beautiful place, each island unique with its own blends of cultures - new and old.
Ahola, Big Island of Hawaii!
aaand a limo-taxi picked us up... um cool or what?
The first night on the ship (Pride of America) was incredibly windy... but we had a blast anyway!
Our first stop: Volcanoes National Park
The veggitation is very Alice in Wonderland -like...
Lava tube: (This is my pancho debut - you like?)
Frozen lava lake: (I am a pancho model, now you want one too, right?)
Lava flow: (you need a pancho when it rains!)
...I think I covered all of the lava/pancho basics.
Maui greeted us with a rainbow ♥
We beached and we shopped...
Road to Hana...
In short - an almost 70 mile stretch windy road so narrow only one vehicle can pass at a time; so windy you get car sick, so remote that basically no hotels exist, and so beautiful that it is all worth it. More on Road to Hana >>
We had a few stops along the way...
And we ended up at the beach :)
Other memorable moments:
I got a lei from my mom :) (Lei's are usually given to honor someone and mamabear bought me one for college graduation - it smelled fantastic!)
I went paddle surfing and was okay
We saw sea turtles!!!!!!!
And many beautiful sun sets and sun rises
All in all it was a wonderful vacation and one of the best presents a college graduate could get from her parents! Mahalo mama and papa! xo
