bareMinerals mineral veil

The gold packaging caught my eye.

The pink iridescence made it unforgettable.

The price made me buy it!

I bought it online at sephora.com and it came with it's own fun little retractable kabuki brush. It was on sale plus I had a coupon code to use.

When it came in, and though I've swatch it many times in the store, I found myself a little disappointed with it's opacity. IT IS SO SHEER! First, I have a thing for pink irridecent stuff, enter: Benefit Moon Beam, HIP Exciting Pigment and Body Shop Pink Eye shimmers. I though this would be the same only in powder form for the face. WRONG!

However, aside from my initial shock to how I thought I would use it, I find myself using it near daily in the dullness of the winter. But how can this be Lizzard? you may ask. Read on my friend, read on...

Once applied to the skin this becomes nearly invisible. You maybe thinking, well duh, it's a mineral veil, that's what they do. Well, don't you duh me young thing! I have never owned bare escentuals products and thus don't know how these things work. So, in the dead of winter my skin gets dehydrated, deathly pale, and sometimes my chin crackles in turmoil from the winds. Applying this instead of my HG Jane Iredale powder has giving my paleness a nice from within glow. I'm not going to tell you to run out and buy it, because it's not a staple and there are work arounds, but this thing is pretty snazzy!

NARS Sin

I have been lemming after this color for quite some time. And I was also debating between Sin and Oasis because they looked so similar and I couldn't quite decide. What exactly is the biggest difference between Sin and Oasis, do you know?

I got lucky and found Sin for a bang of a price on a blog sale. I haven't worn it yet, that's just how I am. I let things sit before I touch them. Soon enough...

Binge shopping

Binge: A period of unrestrained, immoderate self-indulgence.

So I get really caught up in work and don't shop - I don't swing by TJMaxx on my way home, I don't go to Sephora to swatch colors, and I don't go to Macy's to play in their shoe department.

And then... suddenly... I buy like a mad horse!
...and it's even worse when I shop online, which let me tell you - I am a pro online shopper now! I find the best deals for department store cosmetics, salon brand skin product, aaand that's where my expertise stops - although, I have been pretty good at finding some fine jewelry too but that's a-whole-nother topic.

Do you ever have this happen to you?

Let me give you a few examples -

SHOES
I haven't bought shoes since black Friday where I bought two pairs of boots. And then - in one weekend, I got Boutique 9 grey suede knee high boots, and two other pairs very similar to each other: warm taupe, high heel, and dark beige, thigh high flats. A few weekend later I thought that wasn't enough so I got some Baily Uggs.

NAIL POLISH
I made myself stop buying polishes because I have near 75 different colors and in all sorts of shades. And also I like to create my own by applying a few layers of different colors (i.e. black base, sheer deep purple top OR flat white-pink base, creamy ballerina pink top). Then, one fine day I come across Zoya's promo code of getting 3 free polishes per order and only paying for shipping. That night, I made three orders - that's 9 polishes in one swing!

You know what they say,
When it rains, it pours.

Tell me you have these binges too, tell me I'm NOT a freak.
